Neighbour intends drilling out and lowering concrete basement floor.

Will my neighbour drilling out his basement concrete floor to lower it to below mine (I live in the house next door to his), cause damage to my house foundations? He is lowering his floor to level it to the depth of his adjoining conservatory.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

First of all do you have a party wall agreement with your neighbour? He should be careful not to undermine the existing foundations & if he does he will need to under pin to prevent collapse & serious legal & remedial construction works to follow. Make him aware of your concerns and insist on a Structural Engineer to conduct a survey & submit an application to Building Control for approval. Better safe than very very sorry.
