paid for job in Luton that was complete and after 9 months builder asks for more
Anonymous user 01/03/2024 - 2.54 PM
We had a extension and dormer done by a local builder and paid in full for both projects when the final invoices came in and they stated that. Suddenly after 9 months they are asking for more and the spreadsheets have been altered without my consent showing extra work never done and gratia bricks (again said so in a email) asking to be paid for. Can anyone help?
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

If you was not informed at the time of extra costs, and you have paid the amount agreed. Tell them to take a run and jump! There are always extras in big jobs, and even on smaller jobs. Its the tradesman in charge responsibility to make sure his job is coming in, in budget. Not the customer. If the agreed amount has been paid there is not much they can say. 9 months is a long time surly they realised over that period.
