Electrical

replacing electric hot water system in a small flat.

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.03 PM

I have a small one bed flat and am currently replacing the kitchen and making it in to an open plan living space. Currently I have an electric emersion tank in a cupboard that takes up a lot of space and I am wondering if there are any alternative solutions? Must be electric as no gas in the building. I have the usual kitchen appliances, kitchen sink, bathroom sink, bath with over bath shower all supplied with hot water from the emersion tank in the kitchen. Idealy I’d like my hot water on demand with a smaller unit that would fit in a kitchen cupboard rather like the gas ones but from my research it seems as if these wouldn’t be powerful enough to for example fill a bath? My aim is to use as little space so that I can maximise kitchen cupboard space if possible.

There are several companies around that make electric combi boilers which are small in size and are able to run instant hot water and central heating. You would not have to have a hot water cylinder with one of these systems. Here is an example of the type of boiler. http://www.electricboilerscompany.com/12kw-electric-combi-boiler-elektra-c/ Anthony Deacon Amlec Electrical Services

if you don't have wet system radiators one of these would do if you in a single person flat or another small one too if the kitchen sink will be used the same time as the bathroom main one http://www.screwfix.com/p/redring-powerstream-eco-bathroom-water-heater-10-8kw/70888 small one http://www.screwfix.com/p/ariston-andris-lux-2kw-10ltr-undersink-water-heater/3248g
