Bathroom Artex Ceiling Decoration
Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 2.40 PM
My bathroom has an Artex ceiling, which needed decorating. It was painted with emulsion about ten years ago. There does not appear to be any mould or dampness in the ceiling. However, when I painted it with Dulux Professional emulsion yesterday, within an hour or two cracks and peelings appeared in the paint. Can you suggest how I fix it? I do not want to remove the Artex if possible. I habe carefully scraped away the peeling and cracking patches without damaging the artex. Since the ceiling is artex end, then painting over the patches is not a problem. Should I have washed the ceiling first - somewhat difficult for an Artex. Should I have sealed the ceiling with a watered down emulsion first or use a sealant to repaint the ceiling before a final coat of emulsion? Your advise would be appreciated.
