Location of manhole
Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.03 PM
Hi. My kitchen was partially extended in the 1970s by 1.5 m. That extension seems to have covered the manhole for my property (I have lived at my property for 10 years and have never had a blockage but have never located the manhole). I have received approval to extend my kitchen by a further 2.5m. My questions are: a) Is it a legal requirement to create a new manhole in the property? b) If not, what are the alternatives that can be used. c) Is there a way that can help locate a manhole that has been concealed by a previous extension? Many Thanks Nick

Hi I don't think you will find the manhole without breaking up the existing floor. However you can put a new manhole out side and relay drainage hope this helps
