Is it realistic to have electrical rewiring done for a 3 bedroom house in the space of two weeks?

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.21 PM

Between completion and moving in, we'd have less than two weeks available (likely Tuesday 14th until Friday 24th). In this time I hope to get at least two quotes for complete electrical rewiring (chased and filled), award the work, have the work done, clean up afterwards. Does this sound realistic? How soon after awarding work would an electrical specialist be able to start it?

Hi It's a bit tight but should be achievable with the weekend to. It really depends on the amount of points. I assume the house will be completely empty during this time which would make it easier. You would probably need to get a plasterer lined up for the weekend or the Monday to patch up any making good of chases etc. Most electricians would probably be able to price the job quickly but it really depends on how busy they are.

yes I agree with the other guy, one other option is to decide how many points you wont i.e.. lights, sockets etc and let your electrician now and he can give you a ruff price. obviously the less point the quicker will get done, needs to take into account access as well to floor and loft etc. Good luck!
