Fencing

slatting a fence

Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.32 PM

we have a dividing fence with our neighbour which they built and paid for , the posts are on our side , the fence has been up for ten years , we want to put rails on it and slat our side , problem being we want our side kept straight , can we go ahead and do this or will we need to use more post and do it that way , which would mean two fences would be back to back , our neighbour has arches on their side , this is what the problem is going to be as we are keeping ours straight

I would suggest that you put up your own fence as adding extra weight ie rails and slats to the back of the existing fence may cause problems for the posts if they are ten years old. also by building your own fence you can have it how you would like it with out causing any problems between neighbours.

i personally would build a new fence in front to stop any issues or law suits.
