What to expect from a complete rewire of 1950's house?

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.03 PM

Hi, I am soon to have my house rewired. I asked the electrician to provide me with an energy report once completed. He said that electricians do not do that and that it's up to the buyer to get it done when purchasing a house. Maybe I asked the wrong thing but all I want is something to say that a rewire was done so when it comes to selling all is in order. What should I expect after the job Is done?

When your house is rewired you should expect an Electrical Installation Certificate from the electrician and the Electrician to notify building control within 30 days of completion who then send you a compliance certificate. Use an electrician who can and does do both of these things. If he can't then find one who does, look on the Internet at the register of competent electricians in your area.
