My electric shower runs cold in the morning and there is no water pressure. This barely changes when I adjust the temp. Later in the day it will work normally, can anyone help?

The shower is a Triton Zante. Water pressure in my flat isn't great, but I've never had problems with the shower before. When I'm having the problem (generally between 7.30 & 8am) the water pressure is on red and doesn't change at all, even if I move the temp dial. If I go back to it half an hour later it sometimes works immediately.

Hi
It may be that the pressure in your area has been reduced, and with a lot of other people using the water at that time in the morning, you will notice a reduction, especially if you are upstairs.
Check with your water company, they may have temporarily reduced the pressure to work on it. This can last for a while. If not, you may need a new main or start showering later in the day.
Thanks
Fred.

If the shower isnt that new it will have scaled up inside ue to the limescale in the water (like your kettle does!). This will restrict the water flow and although not the sole reason, any slight drop in mains pressure due to heavy usage in the area, will be worse at the shower as the limescale also restricts the flow.
Descaling the heat caniister inside the shower using citric acid can sometimes help although its avisable to get someone in to do it as the incoming cold water pipe will need disconnecting. Also some showers have a small gauze filter at the water inlet point, its worth getting this checked in case any debris is blocking it at all?

Contact your water / utility supplier as it sounds like the demand for water at peak times is insufficient to supply your block of flats / appartments, it's a common fault on new builds.....
