Chade/cut into roof furtar soffit holder
Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 2.39 PM
Hello My Builder made a hole for new extrator fan too close to the gutter soffit piece of wood (in which the gutter is clipped to installed in the edge of the roof) It's an old house so the gutter is not new. The new hole doesn't allow enough space for the grille outside unless the builder chases into this wood soffit. Is this a problem? I'm nervous because it's old and could shortened the life of it. Also not sure what it's used for. Please help! I'm having a nightmare with lots of problems in my bathroom

Why not get the builder to lower the hole, on a gradual slope from the inside to outside so the cover can be fixed onto ducting. The space that's left above it when the ducting and grill is fitted can/could be foamed or filled in from the inside. His mistake get him to rectify it.
