Can I level my sloped front garden without removing the tree?

Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.32 PM

Can I level my sloped front garden without having to remove two trees? This would effectively involve burying two trees with 3-4 feet of soil. The trees are approximately 22 feet tall. How will submerging the tree affect it long term?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Unfortunately not.The buried trees would most likely die this would cause the main stem to rot infecting the tree leading to it eventual decline and death.

Build some sort of retainer around the tree so it keeps soil off the tree...just remember to leave enough room for growth.

As stated, building a retainer to preserve airflow to the trees roots will allow you to change the topography regarding your front garden. Trees use their roots to breath and extract moisture and minerals from the soil they inhabit. Hope this was helpful to you Kind regards
