Waterproof sealant/silicone under skirting?
Anonymous user 01/03/2024 - 2.54 PM
Hi, I recently redone my bathroom, and now have floor tiles done, after finishing the skirting, I am wondering if I should use waterproof sealant underneath the skirting, basically the gap between the floor and the skirting to prevent water from going under? As obviously I can't wipe under there. Is this OK or will my skirting look horrible after? That's my concern. How should I go about doing it? Should I fill it then wipe till it's not visible and under the skirting? Thanks, Savas

Yes a good quality thin bead of clear silicone will be fine like forever clear. Seal then quick mist of glass cleaner then remove excess with silicone tool ( job done ) 👍

Yes personally myself I would put a mastic seal around the base of my skirting, to prevent any water/dirt getting under the skirting .
