Hard wiring my swannone outdoor security cameras

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.20 PM

I have just moved in to a bungalow and put up three outdoor security cameras as I live next to a very busy shortcut. The cameras are in position but i find the wi fi/broadband method/signal very hit and miss. Can they be hard wired ?(they came with cables and i have seen them work on these). Also the night mode is rubbish. Any advise?. Thanks

It would be best if you did hard wire them with the cable that came with the camera, the limitation would be the cable Length & the size of the holes required to get the pre terminated cable end through any walls, this would be eliminated if you used your own coax & power cables cut to the required length but you would need to remake the ends of the cable to accommodate the cameras As for the night mode I subject you introduce a sensor light behind the cam in the same direction as the camera view this would do 2 things 1, give the camera sufficient light at night 2, make the camera less conspicuous Hope that helps

Always go for a wired solution if possiable, there are too many external factors which effect wireless connections such as distance, line of sight and of course enviromental such as trees. As for the night time performance you get what you pay for, we would suggest a professional solution from an experianced installer who can offer you a cost effective solution based on the entire product range available.
