Radiator styles

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.02 PM

I'm planning on getting a new boiler and have been told it may be best to get new radiators too as mine are around 20yrs old. I've been looking around and there are many different styles, and whilst I know I need to make sure I have sufficient BTUs I'm not sure if I can mix up the styles. I would like a towel radiator in the bathroom, normal double convector radiators in the bedrooms/hallway but vertical designer ones in my open plan lounge/diner to make a statement. Is this possible? Also, I've been told to make sure I have correct boiler for the radiators but not sure how to work this out. Any advice? Thanks

Theres no requirement to change rads unless they are not working correctly. Sometimes a powerflush of the existing system is suitable to prolong the life and performance of the rads. If you so wish to change the rads than that is your choice. You can mix and match any radiators you like. Your local engineer though should advise on size and heat output required.
