My mum is Looking to potentially have her kitchen refitted and was hoping someone could point us in the right direction. I am seeing a lot of folks ordering kitchens and having these fitted by independent fitters found on this site. Can anyone recommend the reason for this? Is fitting with likes of wren / magnet etc not included? If not would you simply ask them to measure it all, get it made and then have another individual for this? The kitchen itself is quite small and we are talking a replacement worktop / sink, with a new under cupboard (Two doors) with another door for integrated washing machine and integrated oven /hob. The whole kitchen itself is probably only 6-7 ft and is linear in shape, so all in a line. Essentially just a replacement of the units and fitting of the goods. Cheers

Hi Usually, the larger companies make most of their money on fitting. If you go with a larger firm, you have the 'peace of mind' should any problems arise and you'll also be guaranteed they'll have liability insurance. My advise would be to research independent individuals. Check they have liability insurance, even ask for the certificate. Talk to your installers, at the end of the day you can choose who fits your kitchen or you can go with the big companies and be given an installer you may not get on with. If you choose your own, you'll get the best price.

If you have any electrical work done, make sure an actual electrical does it. Kitchen fitters and builders regularly lie about getting one in and do it themselves.
