Kitchen oven stopped working after the circuit breaker is tripped off

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.02 PM

Hi, We have an old Hotpoint double oven. It stopped working after the circuit breaker for the kitchen was tripped off. We have since switched it back on and all other appliances and plugs are now working, but still not the oven. Does anyone know what might have happened and how to resolve the problem? Is it more likely to be problem with the oven itself or the circuit/fuse? Many thanks, Karen

It could be a faulty oven, faulty cooker switch or even faulty mcb. If the oven is old, it's most likely that is the cause of the problem.

If the oven has a 45a isolator switch or 13a switched spur there is a possibility the fuse has blown please get this checked before you replace your oven.

I would assume that the fuse on the oven plug has gone.
