New boiler fitted but have been told my system needs flushed

Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.32 PM

Hello everyone I am really interested to know when an engineer installs a boiler do they flush your old system. Since installation last September the pressure has dropped 9 times. I have had the divert or and invertor changed and the TF1 filter. It caused a flood at one point as the u bend blew of the pipes and I am still wondering how much damage has been caused. Does the problem lay with me as I was not advised about power flush. My old boiler was 17 years old with a tank. No problems now it's hell. Please help

It is always best practice when replacing a boiler on an old system to power flush the system before you fit the new boiler, in a lot of cased if you fit a new boiler and you didn’t power flush your system then you will invalidate your warranty on your old boiler. If you have a combi boiler i.e. A sealed system and you are losing pressure regularly it is probably because you have a leak, but don’t forget that when you bleed a radiator on a combi boiler system you must afterwards then top up the water because by letting out the air you have then lowered the pressure in the system no matter how much water comes out. Let me know if this helps.
