How long to wait to fit kitchen after plastering?

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 2.39 PM

Hi there, We have just moved home and are getting some rooms skimmed, including the kitchen. We have ordered a new kitchen to be fitted which includes 9 units ( some of these are for built in appliances) and then three wall units. How long would you wait for the plaster to dry before painting and fitting the kitchen? Thanks a lot Emma

Hi It all depends on the background that is been plastered and the thickness of plaster applied, normally 3-5 days but I suggest (if you have time) leaving it to dry completely and painting before the kitchen is fitted this will make it easier for you and eliminate getting paint on your new kitchen units. Hi. I have been able to fit a kitchen a couple of days after plastering but I'd advise you to wait 3-4 days in the summer and probably 5-6 days in colder weather. This will make sure it has properly gone off. I hope this helps.
