is there a restriction on how far waste from bathroom sink/bath and shower should be?

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 2.39 PM

I'm fitting out a new bathroom in a new build property and i'm concerned that the waste from my bath sink and shower is quite long before it goes outside to the stack i'd say its around 3-3.5m for the bath and shower and about 5m for the sink. Is this too far or is there an alternative? Also , could i join my waste from my sink on to my bath waste so only one pipe goes through the wall to the stack? Many thanks guys for your help.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

To do it correctly i would take a seperate waste for each. And for those distances i would up the size to. 2" to bath 2" to shower 1 1/2" to basin assuming there are only a couple of bends. Also a rodding eyes if outside to use for future cleaning. Using shared waste pipes as you asked can cause trap seal loss. (Garggling at the basin/shower when bath is emptied).
