Painted small enSuite sloping ceiling (town house) and flat ceiling with dulux matt emulsion and paint split and cracked in one section ( 1" x 1.5") of the sloping ceiling. Painted walls with dulux matt emulsion and top part of wall (outside wall) became damp in two sections when had shower but has since dried. Not sure what the previous paint was, it was a new build in 2001.

you should have used an appropriate paint for the bathroom, like Dulux bathroom paint, it is moisture and steam resistant and protects your paint from mould for up to 5 years. that would not have cracked as your emulsion did, as it is not suitable for bathrooms.

I would recommended you go to your nearest dulux or crown decorators centre and pick up a tin of mid sheen paint, this will do the job. Before you apply the paint to the walls and ceiling make sure you clean away any mould in the corners and take away any already flakey areas with sandpaper. Preperation is key.

Hi I would recommend you give the walls a good sand down and clean, apply a good quality pourpose made paint for bath rooms like dulux bathroom paint also make sure the room is well vented maybe an extractor fan or leave the window open a little if possible

Good sand Of the walls needed here then put a sheen paint on or a bathroom paint. The water should roll down the walls when there's condensation rather than soak into the wall. An extractor fan is also a good idea in your bathroom if showering is a big part of your life

The builders who originally painted the property would have used Contract emulsion which is not moisture resistant, I would use Dulux diamond eggshell for repainting the ceiling, it is moisture resistant and washable.

Give the walls good sand down, make sure it all dry and smooth. You have to use paint thet is designed for bathrooms. Install extraction fan . That will helps.
