Fit architraves to newly plastered walls
Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.20 PM
I have had the walls replastered and there is a 3mm ish difference to the original wood frame next to it (all of them). My question is what is the best way and cost effective way to put on the architraves without having either a gap of the inside where it doesn't pay flat against the wall and frame or wonky with a big gap on the outside. I want it all look neat and tidy. Thanks

This is very common, you would normally fit the architrave and then run decorators caulk, which is a flexible filler, between the architrave and frame.
When all is decorated, you will not see the gap.
I hope this is of some help

Have the architrave flush to the wall so the gap is on the inside of the frame fill the gap with a caulk once painted should look fine
