Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.02 PM

Hi I'm looking at buying a house and the home report states General condensation in loft cavity and some areas of loose sarking board. Is it likely these two things are linked and Is this a big job to get fixed?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hi to resolve this issue I would suggest to you to install roof vents either within the slates/tiles or maybe a ridge vent. With regards to the loose sarking this will be because the roof is obviously not breathing properly so upon installation of the vents re install the sarking board depending on the amount that is loose these two issues are most definitely linked a roof needs to breathe. Also make full use of the scaffolding if required to overhaul your roof hope this helps.
