Should i fit laminate flooring before carpet runner on stairs?
Anonymous user 01/03/2024 - 2.53 PM
Just checking the best way around to do this to get the best finish. I am assuming that laying the laminate though the hall first and then fitting the carpet runner for stairs second so it is on top is best to avoid having to cut the laminate around the carpet?Just wanted to check. Cheers, Lloyd

Hi yes you are right you would be best to fit laminate flooring in hall first just scripe it around the bottom step then you can fit the gripper just above your laminate so when carpet goes down you will have a nice neat finish.

Think you'll get 2 views from this. If you have a bullnosing and with a sewing method of fitting the bottom step rather than tacks you can fit it in either order as the laminate can butt up to the carpet or fit the step on top of the laminate. Personal preference!
