Should my Vaillant boiler be configured to use the bypass valve for pump overrun each time?
Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 2.39 PM
Should my Vaillant 428 boiler be configured to pump through the bypass valve for pump overrun each time it turns off? The result is that it's pretty noisy once both valves have shut. I would have thought it would be nicer to leave the last valve in use open, but the electronics don't seem to do this. The reasoning I'm questioning my installation is that my (Vaillant Accredited) installer made two other significant mistakes (including fitting the bypass in a position where it could *never* have opened) and I don't trust him to not have made a 3rd. Thanks.

Hi Nick
The current set up that you have is correct. I'm assuming you have two, two port valves so when they both shut the automatic bypass opens to allow for pump over run. The pump should then switch off after about 10 minutes.
Thanks
