Depends on what you mean by little jobs.If you mean bits like dips and holes etc,you would be better off using something like easi fill.If you mean complete walls, its hard to explain how to prepare areas, when to put on 2nd coat etc without showing you! You can get a rough idea by looking at demos on internet and if you go down this route,i would suggest that you spend £30-£50 on a marshalltown "worn in" trowel.Cheap trowels are really crap and you will have no chance of anything half decent as a novice using one.Best bet for larger areas is to offer it up on this site to the pros if you want a good standard of finish!

hi this is based on a few screw holes, 1. sheet up the areas 2. re-move walls plugs and remove loose plasterer 3. buy some one-strike premixed/or some filler ( there is a lot to choose from this is just an example ) 4. apply filler with filling knife/leave to dry fill again if required. 5. lightly sand the area if necessary. you can do larger areas just repeat the process. i prefer to use plaster on anything bigger than a fist. to do this use the above methods, but instead of sanding, you have to lightly wet the areas and trowel it up, with a good trowel (marshalltown is the top of the range all plasterers should use these they cost around £ 50 + each hope this helps kind regards Jason Fletcher's Renovations
