TV Wall mounting on stone effect tiled wall
Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.02 PM
We would like to install stone effect tiles on an interior wall in our living room, and mount a 50" TV over it, and hide all the cables. The wall is empty otherwise. We are not sure whether the interior wall is made of plaster or brick (we think brick), so if you can answer for both wall types, it would help us make a decision. It's three questions: 1. Is it safe to install stone effect tiles on a plaster/brick wall? 2. Is it safe to wall mount a TV on such a wall? 3. How will cables be hidden? Thank you.

As above said I would not recommend installing the tv using the tiles as fixings, if its a stud wall there should be a stud every 400-600mm if it has been constructed correctly that is , or if it is brick I would recommend using anchor bolt fixings as these will hold the weight of the tv without any issues.

You can not fix to tile, as long as you can drill into brick or stud work and get a good fixing it will be fine, if you drill and there is a void then youll have to put some wooden beams across in the void, remember if its behind the tv you can repair the hole as the tv will be covering it.
and put trunking up if solid wall and if its void then put the cables in there
