Replacing a gas double built in oven with electric

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 2.38 PM

Total novice so be gentle! As the title suggests, we are replacing a double built under gas oven with a built under double electric one. My questions are do I need a gas engineer to cap off(?) and remove the gas oven first, and then an electrician to install the electric oven? Do most electricians know how to remove and make safe an old gas oven installation? There was an electric oven in the kitchen when we moved in 10yrs ago so I suspect there is electrical wiring in place - how do I check this? Thanks!!

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

All gas and electrical work has to be carried out by a registered competent tradesmen some gas cookers are fitted with a quick release hose which can be disconnected by your electrical contractor but if it is a solid connection u will need a gas safe engineer to cap off first The the electrical contractor can connect and test your new appliance Always used a registered electrical contractor we know our job and test on completion to ensure your safety
