I have just had a new central heating system fitted and still have the old ridge tile on the roof it looks like its got wire round it to prevent birds getting down it, its no longer needed how do I seal it off can it be sealed from the inside

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

The best thing to do is to remove this ridge vent tile and replace it with a ridge tile. That is what we do if we install a system and remove an old flue that has been connected via a ridge vent. This way there is no way anything can get through, birds or water.
