What kind of timber should i use to build a 6ft garden gate

If the garden gate is 6ft high you can use 4x1 treated timber, but if the gate is 6t wide you may need at least 4x2 section of timber. Thanks

Its best to use tanalised timber so it doesn't rot, or treat the timber yourself with 2 or 3 coats of wood preserver, making sure you coat the end grain. Hope this helps

i would personally use 6ft feather edge boards and treated 4x1 to frame, ledge and brace it. then treat with a a coat of cuprinol to match exsisting panels or stand out.

all depends on what finish you want really , all depends on your taste and budget. Have a look at some gates and see what you like, but you won't need to spend a fortune on hardwoods for example.
