which trade do i need to fix some exractor fan pipework ?

Hi, can someone help me please. I have a blown bathroom extractor fan because of condensation running back down the duct. The extractor fan is covered under a maintainence policy but they wont replace it because they say the ductwork is at fault - sparkys say it's plumbing, plumbers say it's roofing, roofers say it's plumbing. I'm getting wound up by this now, I'm happy to pay to have the ductwork fixed but every trade seems to say it's someone else's job. what trade do I need to hire to get this fixed ? please advise ! Thanks

An Electrician would fix any on going problems with fault conditions and access any duct problems. A visual inspection should find any problems with Water /Condensation ingress to the system and a fix recommended if possible, This could be carried out by a competent person.

An electrician would generally fit a fan including the ductwork if it's through a wall. If it's through the roof then he may well call on the services of a roofer to fit the roof vent into the tiles, slates or whatever. Using insulated duct is best practise as condensation forms where there is a sudden change in temperature between say a bathroom and a loft, either that or a trap should of been fitted so that excess water can be discharged safely.
