After a trademan complete a job for you, can you recall him after 6months?

Work requested was to repointed ridge tiles and chimney to rectify leak in chimney. It was temporarily sealed by home insurance. Thanks

Hi , if the original work is defective then the tradesman should rectify this , however if the issue is not related to the original works then the tradesman is allowed to charge for the inspection .
I would expect any reasonable tradesman to at least pop back to discuss the issue and discuss the options . my concern would be how you engaged with the tradesman in the first instance I,E, did you ask for the leak to be repaired or did you ask for the ridge and chimney to be repointed to repair the leak . the latter statement reverts some responsibility back to you .

If you are trying to recall a temporary repair made by home emergency then no you cannot recall him as it was a temp repair. Generally these are carried out to prevent further internal loss. If it was deemed wear and tear then the permanent repair would be at your own cost.
If however you employed someone to make a repair and this failed in a private capacity then I would question if the works were satisfactory and perhaps call him back...
