Plumbing

fitting a free standing shower tray to a rubbish wet room.

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 2.37 PM

I am planning on installing a free standing shower tray in a wet room. my question is about the waste. is it advisable to use the existing drain / waste or should i remove that and fit a new unit, and pipe it into that? Its not something i am going to do myself, just want to order the right items before finding a plumber. thanks in advance. Brendan

Your job description says your current wet-room is rubbish?? Is that because it leaks? If so where is the leak coming from....a badly constructed floor, or the waste & associated plumbing? A wet-room floor waste is not compatible with a shower tray, so that at least will need to be changed & can only be done so by removing the wet-room floor former! What else needs attention is pure speculation from my part.
