Fit a freesanding gas cooker- pipework needed?
Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.01 PM
Hi, we have a freestanding gas cooker fitted with hose and chained to the wall. We are getting a new freestanding gas cooker, nothing fancy just single oven, not dual fuel or anything. Could a new cooker be fitted using existing hose or new hose kit if necessary? Is there a requirement to upgrade to pipework? I live in a flat, I guess the Landlord would have informed us if there is a regulation? Would some one advise of price of fitting with A) existing hose B) fit with new hose kit C) with pipework. Looking to hire after cooker purchase, researching cookers currently. Thank you.

Absolute nonsense saying you can't use the same cooker hose. ADP Plumbing, you need to learn your trade!
The amount of people on here talking complete garbage is hilarious.

Plus you can't install a freestanding cooker on rigid pipework. The hose unhooked from the wall, not the appliance- get someone qualified (gas safe register with cooker on card) to install it. You'll find that the oven you buy probably won't come with a hose attached to prevent you from installing it without carrying out any safety checks, ventilation requirements etc.
