Betacom 30c overpressure fault

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.19 PM

Hi, I have a Glow-wormorm Betacom 30c boiler, been installed now for 6 years with no issues. Recently the boiler has been faulting out due to low pressure and now it has go to the point where this happens daily. I pressurised it the other day and watched the boiler. Initial pressure was at 1.4 Bar, boiler heated the heating system (no hot water) the pressure went to 2.8 Bar. I let the system cool down and run this again but with no central heating and just hot water running, the pressure reached the 4 bar, and the PRV dumped the system water. After reading some forums I thought that the expansion vessel could have given up so I replaced but no improvement. The hot water supply has now stopped completely and only cold water. Not sure if this is linked but noted when I was in the attic with the boiler that there was a clicking (like an old mechanical clock) coming from the boiler. Any help would be appreciated.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?
