Tiling and redecorating a kitchen - order of work

Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.31 PM

I am redecorating my kitchen but unsure what order to do things in. Should I paint the walls before or after tiling? I am using stainless steel square edged trim and there are three side edges where the splash back will finish part way along the wall. Not sure if it will look neater if I paint first.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

for a better finish I would ask you to decorate before hand because it would leave a perfect finish

I would recommend carrying out all of the tiling work prior to decorating. If you are worried about getting paint on tile trims simply use a good quality masking tape to protect them. Apply any silicone sealant last as paint can have difficulty adhering. Hope this helps. Barry :)
