thermostatic radiator valves on all radiators
Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.18 PM
I have just had a Main Eco Elite combi boiler installed with a wall thermostat and the heating is constantly going off then back on like 10 times an hour. I have also had an additional valve in my bathroom which was the only radiator without one and gets too hot when the heating is on. My installer said it is fine to have valves on every radiator but after reading on here I am confused. The thermostat is in the lounge where I have a TRV. Please advise what is correct? Any suggestions how to manage the heating constantly going off before I go mad? The water is on minimum setting too yet mad hot.

if your thermostat is in the same room as a trv they conflict causing the problems you have got what i would do is unscrew the trv remove head this might rectify the fault for you

The room containing the thermostat should only have lockshields,no trv s! Iff the heating system is small(3-4,even 5 small radiators) might quickly get hot and activate flow temperature sensor on your boiler, matter needs investigation, consider pump speed, does boiler have automatic bypass? Is the direction of flow right through the TRV s? Some of them are one way only, and when new boiler is fitted ,installers might pipe up flow to return and vice versa! Really needs a look!!!
