Low water pressure for a new combi boiler
Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 2.37 PM
I have just purchased a 3 bedroom end terrace property (built 1982)where an old boiler (Glow Worm Ultimate 40ff) needs replacing. I was hoping to have a new Combi Boiler (Vaillant or Worcester) installed, however having had a representative from one of the “big six” energy companies (not sure if I can name the company here), I was told there is not enough pressure in the mains to install a combi boiler. It was then recommended to replace my old conventional boiler with a new energy efficient conventional boiler (Worcester Bosch Greenastar 15Ri ErP) as well as to replace both the hot & cold water tanks. Although both the tanks do need replacing, I was hoping to get rid of them altogether by installing a combi boiler. Having spoken to a neighbour, I was told he’s got a Combi boiler installed and his water pressure appears to be Ok, although not ideal. This makes me think there might be some issues with the plumbing in my house. Could this be measured/established? If there are any issues, could this be fixed in order to increase water pressure with an ultimate goal of installing a combi boiler, which will then need to work to the full capacity etc.
