tradesman who take away customers boiler parts etc without communication

Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.31 PM

When hiring a tradesman, they quote for installation and removing old parts. We later find they attmepting to take away old parts, cylinder, tanks etc but not informing us and when questioning it with them, they ask what you need it for and refusing. Surely, unless they mention about disposing parts no one has the right to take away customers boiler parts during new installation unless they have discussed or mentioned it at the beginning with customer and then to question it with the customer why they want to keept it, surely bad business practice ?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hi dhallug, I think you've answered your own question really. If they are contracted to take away (dispose) then they have acted in accordance. If not, then they have, at best, misunderstood the contract terms or, at worst, stolen items belonging to you. Thank you, Jason.
