Do I need to box up my electric wires if its the same wall as a shower is going on to?

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.18 PM

I have recently bought a property and I had to have a rewire. The fusebox downstairs is below the bathroom and the electrics travel up through to the bathroom. We have ripped out a cupboard in the bathroom to put a shower there. I just wanted to know the safest way to make sure the electrics are boarded up and protected if water was to leak behind wall. Also how big should the box be round the electrics if it needs boarded up. Thank you

Hello I believe rewiring in your house going to be done by qualified electrician and that person will know how to run cables. It is not an job which one could do somebody with no experience. Do not do false saving. V.A.Electrical

in this case, a professional electrician will do the job and he knows what to do to prevent water from getting to your unit in case of leak but for peace of mind I will box it with water proof special box
