Cooker next to door way with 20cm of work top

My freestanding dual fuel cooker has about 10cm of worktop to the left then a wall and 20cm to the right then a door way. Is this against regulation as my 2 yr old knocked over a pan of boiling pasta whilst entering the kitchen waving his arms . I live in a council property and have asked but no response.thanks in advance

Always need to think about safety in the kitchen , whether it regs or not . Its always safe practice to have 60cm either side of a cooker/stove . But the regs do allow 20cm either side of the appliance .
