Water-based self levelling compound over latex-based self levelling compound?

Anonymous user 01/03/2024 - 2.53 PM

My kitchen floor has just been levelled with Arditex NA (latex-based) but I've noticed some areas of undulation where further levelling is required. Can I use water-based SLC on top of this? Either way, do I now need to prime over what is down before adding a new layer? The floor is damp proofed and the initial layer of NA has been down for three days. Any advice would be much appreciated

the simple answer is no, the more technical answer is ardex na has a compressive strength of 16nm and any levelling product going over the top must be the same or less and all water based levelling compounds are considerably higher, the stronger compound will lift the weaker one up. And as stated by the other person to post contacting ardex technical department is your best course of action.

Your better off using NA agin, if you don’t you will need a primer, all latex bags will have have information on what primer to use written on the bag.
