Combi Boilers for 4 bed house?

Hello, I don't know much about boilers but ours is old (water tank and hot water storage tank ie gravity fed). I am hoping to put in a combi boiler and am hoping this will compensate for the poor flow through the current showers (we have a main bath and an en-suite shower). We rarely run both showers simultaneously. I was thinking about the Valliant EcoTec Plus but which model? I would like some flexibility eg running a tap and shower simultaneously. Can someone help me understand what model I need please. Many thanks.

A lot depends on your circumstances and budget. You want to look at the hot water flow rate and the central heating output (KW). If you have 4 bedrooms you will need a decent output on the central heating side to be able to heat all the radiators. The Ecotec plus 832 provides 24.7KW on the central heating, and 13 litres/min for the hot water, which should be adequate for your circumstances. Otherwise the Ecotec plus 835 will give you 31KW for central heating (heat approx. 15-20 radiators depending on size), and 14.3 litres/min for hot water. The increased flow rate (faster you run your tap) will make it difficult for boilers with a low flow rate to maintain a good temperature at your hot tap. This should definitely be more than adequate for your property. Difference in cost is about £100 for the boiler. Other manufacturer's will be bit cheaper, the Worcester CDI classic combi's are very good. Hope this helps.
