Can i use my french doors i already have

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 2.36 PM

I have external french doors between my living from and lean-to. I want to build an extension to replace the lean-to but i wanted to use the external french doors i already and leave it open between the extension and living room. Am i allowed to do this or do i have to buy new ones? I know it may depend on the U value but i don't know what it is, is there a way to find out. I know what glass is in the doors but that is all.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

new regulations for the window and door industry came in to force 2002 so if the doors were fitted after that date the doors should meet the present regulations so you should be able to reuse them
