What would be the process of moving a retaining wall 2-3 meters to increase patio area and estimated time to undertake the job? The retaining wall is roughly 1.5m high with the garden sloping upwards as you move away from the house. There is access down the side of the house which is 1m+ wide so assuming a mini excavator has access to the garden. The wall is roughly 6m wide. See link for photo - Ideally we would like excavate to push the base of the wall back to the top of the steps: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B6YgXEoknbzwOS01Q3FuT0s0dkU/view?usp=sharing Thanks!

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

I am just finishing a retaining wall so first things first you will have to break it then new foundation has to be dug, build reinforced especially at this size of 1.5m you will need to act quick. There might be a big chance the wall is one with the foundations (connected thru steel). As well you will need a lorry or a skip depends on the size of how much comes out (remember this is a job that need to be accomplished in a week before the holding ground moves) the sooner is build the better as factors like rain, type of ground an so on matter dramatically. On this stage i won't say the options but you must have it done properly. Then i haver a few ideas that might save you the thousands in materials and labour if you want contact me or shortlist me and i will be ready to propose my ideas to you.
