Kitchen Tiling – Marine Ply or No More Ply

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.01 PM

Hi All, I am getting my kitchen tiled with 60x60cm quartz tiles, total size of the kitchen is around 8.5 sq.m. What kind of backing under these tiles is most suitable and cost effective considering all the other adhesives, sealers, etc required for the job? Marine Ply OR No More Ply Appreciate any feedback. Thanks

I prefer to use selco adhesives (9 years usage no problems) Usually " Dunlop " They have good price and special offers.Selco is trade shop but you can try to do the selco card, orr look in other sites to similar-/www.selcobw.com/sealocrete-flexible-rapid-set-floor-wall-tile-adhesive-20kg .If not use any quarts suitable Dunlop adhesive and grout. For silicon Im using antibacterial 6-8 pound no big money.Regards MaC Service.

Yet again, very wrong advice from a none tiler. Backaboard a must, fixed as manufacturers instructions, NOT ply.... Quartz tiles are expensive fit. No cheap options I'm afraid. MUST be fix with a latex based adhesive, this means powder and bottle. NO WATER..... Anything else WILL FAIL Julian
