loft flooring safety to fit floor boards

Hi Is sit ok to screw 4x2 across my loft from the bottom of the trussess to the same the other side of the loft well actually 175mm up from the bottom to install a new loft floor above the old one as I dont want to install loft flooring onto the existing ceiling beams Thanks
