Humming noise in spare room

Anonymous user 01/03/2024 - 2.53 PM

We have a strange humming noise only in our spare bedroom. Turned the mains off and the humming noise stops. What might be the reason for this? Becki

If you have a dimmer switch then that is most likely the cause of this humming sound and may need replacing, either that or if no dimmer switch is present it may be residual noise from an extractor fan in bathroom.

I would get an electrician to come and have a look at the installation it could be an early warning sign of a loose connection in the switch or lighting point. As mentioned previously it could be a fan or dimmer that needs attention too. but with it being in the location you mention its not worth taking the chance as a loose connection can cause over heating and even fires if left unchecked.
