Underfloor heating (electrical) on boards with Lino or Vusta flooring advice

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.00 PM

All Need some advice on the best way of fitting the above. I'm looking for underfloor heating for a bathroom which is about 6m2 but will only need the underfloor heating around 2.5m2 due to shower/bath/toilet/sink/deadspace not in need of heating. I'm wondering what the best way to lay it would be? Marine ply on the boards or replace boards with the ply? how thick? Insulate ontop of the boards/ply? what kind for bathroom and how thick? lay heating matt and then level with what? What happens in the areas with no heating matt that's still in the bathroom will the floor become uneven? If lino is on top i assume the levelling is enough not to feel the cables If Vusta then it seems to need an underlay (magnetic) then the vusta boards ontop. This could all add 30+mm to the flooring? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks Dominic

This work is notifiable so your best bet is to call a registered electrician to do the job and all the paperwork for you including notification. take their lead on the method of installation.
