Order of work for multiple jobs?

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 2.36 PM

We are hoping to buy a house in which we wish to do various jobs before we move in. However we aren't sure in which order they should be done and if it is best to employ one person to "project manage/coordinate" all the trades and if so which trade should that be? The jobs are as follows: Install gas to the property and install gas central heating. Remove electric storage heaters and check wiring installation. Replace internal doors, skirting and door facings. Replace wooden double glazing and external doors with UPVC. Skim some ceilings with plaster. Replace kitchen work tops. Create a new shower/toilet cloakroom under stairs. Create a vent for the tumble dryer to the outside. Decorate/paint walls. ( I wish to wax the new woodwork as I dislike painted wood) These are the main jobs but there are a few other smaller jobs like fitting a loft ladder. Any advice gratefully received. Many thanks.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

First of all install gas central heating as lots of floorboards need to be lifted during the installation. Might be worth considering a full rewire if it's not been done for over 40 years at the same time. Replace all doors and windows, Create a new shower/toilet cloakroom under stairs, Create a vent for the tumble dryer to the outside, Replace kitchen work tops, Replace internal doors, skirting and door facings, plaster walls where needed then decorate.
