Increasing water pressure to mixer shower - gravity fed hot, mains cold

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 2.36 PM

HI there, I have a gravity fed hot water system (single floor flat) and cold water mains. Throughout the flat the cold water pressure is far greater than the hot, though this is not an issue. The shower however doesn't have much power. Its a mira mixer shower. What's the best way to increase pressure to the mixer shower? Will a positive head single impeller pump fitted to the hot water tank for the job? Ive read conflicting info about pumps for mixer showers! Thank you,

We really need to see a photo of your cylinder to confirm what system you have. If you a Fortic cylinder ( small header tank on top of hot water cylinder) then I would NOT recommend a pump of any sorts as you will run out of water within 3 minutes tops. Your best bet is to replace shower completely and install an electric shower
